Q424. Why can’t I view data from direct emitters and suppliers together?

This information does not have legally binding effect or expressly or implicitly create, expand, or limit any legal rights, obligations, responsibilities, expectations, or benefits in regard to any person. Q424. Why can’t I view data from direct emitters and suppliers together?

A424. Data from direct emitters and suppliers cannot be viewed together because it would cause double counting of emissions in many sectors. In general, it is more accurate to look at upstream (also called suppliers) data separately from downstream (also called direct emitters) data. Each of these types of data provides important but different information about GHG information across the country.
