Q802. Which facilities are given an orange facility symbol in FLIGHT?

A802. A facility is given an orange symbol when EPA’s verification requirements have not been met. (For more information on EPA’s verification, please visit: https://www.epa.gov/ghgreporting/ghgrp-methodology-and-verification). This may be because the facility has not provided an acceptable explanation for the potential error identified in their report, has not submitted a revised report to correct the potential error, or has submitted a revised report that does not resolve the error or contains new potential errors.  In these cases, when the facility name or orange icon is clicked the message will read “Facility has not met EPA’s verification requirements by [date].” Additionally, a facility may be given an orange symbol if EPA has not had adequate time to review the explanation or revised report, or such revision was not due to EPA until after the indicated date.  For example, the revised report may have been submitted too close to or after the date upon which the data was locked for publication.  In this case, when the facility name or orange icon is clicked the message will read “Verification of this facility’s report was still in progress as of [date].”
